Pets With Cancer — Ozone Therapy and Cancer In Pets

Cancer is an ever increasing problem in pets, as it is with humans.

If you go back to the year 1900, then you would have found that 1 out of every 100 people would get cancer. By the end of the 20th century, the rate was 1 out of every 3 people. Now, as of 2009, I heard a report saying that 2 out of every 5 people will get cancer. The rate just keeps increasing — we have to ask why? What are we, as humans, doing to cause this rate of cancer to increase both in humans and our pets?

Cancer can be very scary because we all know that cancer can ultimately mean death. None of us want to loose our pets to something like cancer.

Although it is possible to reverse cancer, it can also be very challenging. But on this page I am going to give some tips and suggestions regarding cancer and what can be done to help reverse and hopefully cure the cancer.

In my opinion, it is our responsibility and duty as loving pet guardians to do what we can to help our pets be cured of cancer (or other diseases) because that's what our pets would do for us — in fact, our pets provide us with medicine every day in the form of pure love and joy. But while it's our duty as responsible pet guardians to help our pets, it's also important to know and realize that we shouldn't let our pets suffer.

Since we shouldn't let our pets suffer, the first piece of advice that I give people is also the most difficult. It's important to know when it is time to put our pets down to prevent suffering. This is the sad reality that we must all face when it comes to cancer. You will know when this is necessary but hopefully this will not need to be an option.

Having experienced pets with cancer, I know first hand the emotional strain that seeing a pet with cancer can create. It's for this reason that I like to suggest that you keep a daily log book of how your pet is doing.

Keeping a log book is beneficial because on the days that you feel emotional and are wondering how your pet is doing, you can look back at your notes to make a non–emotional decision about your pet's actual state of well being.

Next, it's important, although very difficult to stay strong emotionally because ultimately fear does not help the healing process whereas love and peace do. When you are calm, your pet will be calm. If you are scared and spending all of your time worrying, then your pet will be concerned about you and will be focussed on your fear and your worrying. As a result, your pet cannot put its energy on healing. So be calm and at peace, even though this may be difficult. Let your dog focus on its own healing rather than having your pet waste its energy on trying to have you become calm because this is the natural instinct of a dog or cat — consider for a moment, when you are sad, who tries to cheer you up? Your pet of course. Your pet knows when to sit on your lap or to give you a kiss.

Now there are some simple things you can do to help a pet with cancer. One thing I like to suggest is color therapy!

Color therapy is a simple tool that allows you surround your pet with certain colors to help the healing process. For example, we all know that blue has a calming effect while red is stimulating. So what I suggest is that you go to your local library and get a book on color therapy. Learn which colors to use and which colors to avoid. You can then let your pet sleep on a blanket with certain colors. You can also energize water with color energy by wrapping a glass water jug in colored cellophane at leaving it exposed in the sun for 24 hours.

Color therapy is a simple yet beneficial tool.

Another tool that can be used is magnetic therapy. This healing tool has been used for thousands of years and dates back to ancient civilizations such as Persia (now Iran and Iraq) and ancient Egypt. Again, I would suggest getting a book from your local library about magnetic therapy and then applying it. All it requires is certain magnets and a basic understanding of how it works and this can become beneficial for your pet with cancer. You can also buy magnetic blankets now too.

Diet is one of the most important tools you can use to help your pet with cancer. Diet is the key to holistic healing and without a good diet, it's difficult for the body to heal. This is why I always suggest feeding a natural, raw meat diet to any pet with cancer. In fact, I promote a raw meat diet always because the cure and prevention are ultimately the same.

I also suggest that you give supplements such as calcium, enzymes, green foods, minerals and glandulars to pets with cancer. All of which can be found in my pet store. These are all important because the extra nutrition along with the digestive assistance that the enzymes provide help provide the extra nutritional fuel the body requires for healing. Throughout my book I talk about the importance of digestive enzymes, calcium, glandulars and minerals.

It's also advisable to contact a homeopathic vet to get some extra assistance. The homeopathic vets that are trained in classical homeopathy can also help suggest homeopathic remedies to help your pet.

Herbal and homeopathic remedies can help the body detoxify. There are numerous herbal remedies on the market to help the body with cancer. One of the most famous is the Essiac Remedy which can be found at most health food stores. Although the Essiac Remedy is beneficial, I am not sure if it is suitable for the cancers of today which are generally more powerful than the cancers of the early 1900's and earlier when the Essiac Remedy was created and used. Nonetheless, Essiac can still be given.

Sometimes people given a herbal remedy known as Flor–Essence instead of Essiac. But I do not suggest the Flor–Essence as it contains cress, which is okay, but over long term can cause some kidney problems. When it comes to cancer, the body does not die of the cancer per se, but rather of kidney failure as cancer puts a lot of stress on the kidneys.

In fact, years ago I heard a lady talk about her husband who cured himself of cancer yet died from taking an Aspirin because the Aspirin put too much stress on the kidneys. So we want to support the kidneys the best we can and that's why I prefer not to use Flor–Essence. Ultimately it's a personal choice.

There are many options for healing cancer from a herbal standpoint and so you can do some research and find the one you like best.

One herbal remedy you may want to consider is a traditional native remedy which is sometimes referred to as Compound X, also known as Two Feathers Healing Formula. I've seen this herbal remedy remove a wart before and it can work, but I would get more information before using it because it can be a powerful detoxifier.

Whenever giving a herbal remedy to a pet, just remember to give a portion of the human dose. I give 10% of the human dose for every 10 pounds of weight. For example, if your pet weighs 20 pounds, then I would give 20% of the human dose — if your pet weighed 70 pounds, then I would give 70% of the human dose, etc.

Since cancer can put a lot of stress on the kidneys, it is important to support the kidneys and one of the best ways of doing this is by using a glandular supplement for the kidneys. The supplement I use and recommend is the Rena GO glandular supplement which should be used in combination with Pet GO which is a basic, all purpose glandular supplement that supports the whole body while the Rena GO supports just the kidneys.

Now cancer can be very scary not only because we all know that it can mean death, but also because cancer is, from a simple point of view, nothing more than too many toxins in the body and when the body begins to detoxify then weird, strange and scary things can happen.

Detoxification can be scary when the pet is relatively healthy and just getting rid of excess toxins. But when your pet has cancer and begins to detoxify, then the detoxification can be magnified to an even greater extent.

It's possible that your pet may become extremely lethargic — so much so that your pet might be completely listless. This can happen because the body is really needing to focus its energy on healing. When the body is feeling better, then the lethargy goes away.

Your pet may have extremely strong and foul smelling breath, urine or stools.

Your dog may not want to go for walks — it may look like it's in pain and discomfort.

The hair may fall out and then later grow back in — kidney stones may get dissolved and then later passed which can cause your pet to strain like it really needs to urinate but yet nothing happens until after the stones have passed.

Detoxification due to cancer can be extremely scary and can be very powerful.

When your pet has cancer, your pet will detoxify many times and so the experiences can happen many times meaning many scary events.

When these scary events happen, remember to do your best to stay calm and at peace as ultimately that will benefit your pet the most.

Since detoxification can be scary, it's again important to keep daily notes so you can review your notes to see what has happened in the past to help you make more logical and factual decisions rather than decisions based on emotion alone.

The difference between detoxification and illness can be a blurry. Detoxification is what happens when the body does what is needed to cure itself of illness while illness is what happens when the body cannot cure itself of illness. So the two are really the same and it can be difficult to distinguish when the body is in fact progressing and healing or when the body is suffering and weakening. It's not an easy thing to determine but this is why your daily notes are also beneficial.

Ozone Therapy

Now, one thing that I have not mentioned yet is cancer and ozone therapy even though that's what this page is ultimately about.

Most of what I've talked about above is more or less common knowledge — and so the above is information that you will find from other sources or other people. Other sources or other people may say or suggest different things, but ultimately the principles will be the same.

So let's talk about this ozone therapy now — what is it?

Well, ozone therapy is basically a therapy in which you provide oxygen to the body.

Why would you want to do this? Because cancer is anaerobic — that is, cancer survives in an oxygen starved environment rather than an oxygen rich environment.

When you provide additional oxygen to the body, it helps the body rid itself of cancer. This is by no means a cure, although many pets have been cured of cancer through the use of ozone therapy as have humans. This method is part of the solution rather than the solution itself and even then, it does not guarantee success.

Ozone therapy is used by many and it can be quite expensive.

Professional athletes often go into a hyperbaric chamber. The hyperbaric chamber simulates compression that one would experience when one goes scuba diving, as an example. At higher pressures, the oxygen in the blood becomes higher in number. Athletes then use this extra oxygen to help their injuries heal faster. But a hyperbaric chamber is quite expensive. You can do a search on the internet for more information about hyperbaric chambers if you want to learn more.

Some people go to a doctor who provides ozone therapy and basically have ozone (oxygen) inserted into their body through their anus. The oxygen is readily absorbed into the body through the anus. This helps the body fight cancer or other disease.

But how can we do the same thing for our pets and at an affordable price?

Well luckily there is something called food grade hydrogen peroxide. Please note, I said *food grade* hydrogen peroxide. This is not the same as the hydrogen peroxide found in a pharmacy that you apply to cuts, etc. Food grade hydrogen peroxide is safe for internal use when diluted whereas regular hydrogen peroxide is not.

You can get food grade hydrogen peroxide at your local health food store.

What you want to do is buy 35% food grade hydrogen peroxide.

Next buy 4 liters (1 gallon) of distilled water. You do not want spring or glacial water nor do you want water that has been purified using reverse osmosis. You actually want distilled water so all of the minerals and impurities have been removed.

Next, to the 4 liters of distilled water, you add 8 to 10 fluid ounces (235 – 295 mL) of the 35% food grade hydrogen peroxide.

Now get yourself a good spray bottle and add some of the distilled water and food grade hydrogen peroxide combination to the spray bottle.

Begin spraying your pet from the shoulders to the tail, over the back, along the chest and stomach and legs.

Do not spray the head. You want to spray no higher than the shoulders.

Spray your pet so it takes about 10 minutes for your pet to dry naturally. You do not want to dry your pet with a towel, but rather you want the body to absorb the oxygen in the food grade hydrogen peroxide. The body can and does absorb through the skin. If you don't believe me, rub some garlic on the sole of your feet and tomorrow you will have garlic breath!

By spraying this food grade hydrogen peroxide combination on your pet, you are helping to add more oxygen to your pet's body. This is the poor man's ozone therapy technique.

Remember, cancer is anaerobic in nature — that is, cancer lives in an oxygen starved environment and so by providing extra oxygen, you help combat the cancer by providing the body with the extra oxygen it needs for healing.

Things to note are when you begin to spray your pet with this food grade hydrogen peroxide combination is that the hair will begin to get bleached. Your pet will also begin to itch quite a bit because the food grade hydrogen peroxide has this effect, but this will reduce with time.

When you begin spraying your pet, at first you may only want to spray your pet once per day, then increase to twice per day and then ultimately to about 4 to 6 times per day. Remember, it should take your pet about 10 minutes to dry and so you really need to soak your pet well.

This extra oxygen can really create some forms of detoxification including loose stools, etc. So don't be surprised if after you begin spraying that your pet has loose stools. Remember, loose stools is different to diarrhea. Loose stools are solid, yet do not have a solid shape whereas diarrhea is basically water. Diarrhea is a concern that should be addressed by a vet if it happens for too long as diarrhea can lead to dehydration. Loose stools on the other hand are healthy and cleansing.

If you want, you can also mix (only if you want to) about 5ml of castile soap or another natural soap with your favourite essential oil and then add that combination to your food grade hydrogen peroxide mixture — the soap acts as an emulsifier for the oil to mix into the hydrogen peroxide mixture. Please note that some essential oils may interfere with the effectiveness of homeopathic remedies and so if you are using homeopathic remedies then you may not want to use any essential oils.

Cancer is like an onion with many layers needing to be removed. As each layer is removed, it is at this time that detoxification can happen.

Disease and bacteria cannot survive in an oxygen rich environment and so this food grade hydrogen peroxide combination, although not a cure, may be beneficial in helping your pet to rid itself of cancer.

This food grade hydrogen peroxide combination can also be done to healthy pets and even yourself. Just always remember to spray no higher than the shoulders.

Out Smart Your Cancer

Tanya Harter Pierce, M.A., M.F.C.C. wrote an excellent book called Out Smart Your Cancer. Anyone who has a pet that is suffering from cancer should read this book. When you do, you will learn about protocel, an interesting and very successful cure for cancer.

Miracle Mineral Solution

Jim Humble, creator of the Miracle Mineral Solution, provides information on another method of curing cancer. For the most part, it all has to do with oxygen similar to the ozone therapy technique. Similar to protocel, the Miracle Mineral Solution is worth looking into.

Stay Grounded

Don't expect miracles, but instead, do your best and hopefully good things will happen.

Ramama Maharshi, the famous sage of India said it best when he said ultimately we must all resign ourselves to the inevitable — whatever the inevitable may be.

In addition to the above information, it's also worth noting that there are many other products or supplements now available to help combat and cure cancer. Of course, you don't hear about them always on the news because there is more money in raising funds to do cancer research than there is in using natural therapies which cannot be patented.

When one thinks about all the money that has been raised to find a cure for cancer, yet nothing has been found yet, one should get suspicious. Additionally, with all the funds that have been raised to find a cure for cancer, why has no–one taken that publically raised money to research the many natural remedies for cancer? Ultimately, the money raised only goes to the drug companies who get people to pay for them to do research and then they charge people to buy their medicines. What a great business model!?!

I am not a huge fan of the pharmaceutical companies and I openly admit it!

Willie Is A Magician. His Hot Spots Have Disappeared!

2010-04-09

I started following your diet suggestions, for my cat Willie four months ago and have had excellent results. Willie was a very sick cat, exhibiting all the symptoms, hot spots, hair loss, fleas, hair balls and no energy at all.

I am very happy, and so is Willie, to report that all those symptoms are now gone and he has gained all his weight back, has a full and shiny coat, there are no fleas and he has not thrown up in four months! Willie also suffered with hot spots, and they too are completely gone.

My other companion, Putter, has also taken to eating a raw meat diet, supplemented with Eggshellent, and they love it.

Your raw meat diet has turned the page for my cats' health and made me believer forever. Many thanks.

Rocky's Comeback

2008-09-14

I took on a dog that was very, very skinny, extremely stressed, and sick with a major cold and diarrhea caused by an intestinal parasite that he picked up at an overcrowded animal shelter. That was August 22, 2008. He was only the second dog I've had, and I didn't feel all that equipped to handle him (I'm still learning!).

I was scared to death he was going to die on my watch. But I immediately ditched all commercially prepared food and started feeding him by hand, scrambled eggs, rice, and cheese. I started doing research and found your book, which I enjoyed and printed. I've employed its recipes (for the most part — I still have a cultural need to just sear the meat before serving, still mostly raw, and I still include rice), but the results have been phenomenal. I bought a $20 food chopper at Wal–Mart to chop the vegetables and the organ meats, and for most things it works just fine. I use cheese as training treats. And this was while he was on medication, which as we all know can hinder weight gain.

Now he's a happy bundle of energy, more than I can handle, actually. We go out for long, energetic walks and today I bought my first set of running shoes in over 15 years. We may wind up saving each other here!

Because of his poor health, I took pictures of him every day to examine his progress in detail to make sure I could tell for sure whether he was improving or getting worse. They wound up being great before and after testimonials for the power of healthy food for your dog. These pictures are only 10 days apart! Except for the last, which is 3 weeks from the first, I think. I'm allowing him to stay lean and energetic, and we're working on building up muscle.

Thank you for your very helpful website – Nancy

One Word — Fantastic

2005-08-15

We thought we would write to let you know how our cats are doing on the fresh food diet. In a word — fantastic! We have four feline companions in total, ranging in ages from 5 months to 9 years. All are healthy & full of vigour now. When they were eating canned and dry food they often had diarrhea (we fed vet recommended food), would throw up regularly after meals and had constant problems with hairballs (we brushed them a lot). All that is stopped now. One of our males, part Russian Blue, had recurring FUS (feline urological syndrome). With this natural way of feeding it has completely cleared up. Another remarkable thing is they almost never drink water now (we always leave fresh water out), all they need is provided in their food. We feel a lot better about feeding fresh meat and such rather than man made food with preservatives and chemical additives, etc. We want our cats with us for a long time and feel with this diet they will enjoy lengthy and healthy lives.

Thank you for introducing us to the feeding of fresh wholesome food the way Mother Nature intended. It did take a little while for them (and us) to get used to it, like asking kids not to eat junk food, but now they attack their meals with gusto! Thanks again.
